Operator Details

Used to manipulate plumbing valve operator mechanism's dimensions.

To open the Operator Details dialog, position the pointer in the value field of the Valve Operator Parameters in the DataGroup Property panel, and select the Operator Form from the pull-down list options.

There are four main types of operators: Handwheel, wrench, electrical, and gear.

The operator details

SettingDescription
Orientation The orientation region of the dialog controls the operator orientation or angle relative to the valve. Orientation is relative to fitting axis; angle (degree).
  • X: Primary — Sets front and back rotation of operator along the valve axis in degrees.
  • Y: Tertiary — Sets rotation of operator perpendicular to the valve axis in degrees. Positive values rotate the operator towards End2 and negative values rotate the operator towards End1.
  • Z: Secondary — Sets the orientation of the operator relative to operator's shaft axis.
Parameters The parameters region of the dialog controls the type of operator and its dimensions.
  • Operator Type — Used to select sets the operator type.

The available types are a handwheel, a wrench, an electrical box, a gear box, a calibrated, a pneumatic or a thermostatic.

Note: The appearance of the dialog options changes depending upon which operator is selected.
for Gear
  • A — Sets the vertical offset distance between the valve axis the gear box's centerline.
  • B — Sets the distance between the gear box's centerline to the end of the gear actuation shaft.
  • C — Sets the gear operator hand control diameter.
  • D — Sets the horizontal offset distance between the valve axis and the hand control.
  • E —Sets the horizontal offset distance between the gear actuator shaft and the hand control axis.
for Electric
  • A — Sets the electrical box's larger size dimension, i.e. actuator width.
  • B — Sets the offset distance between the valve and the outermost surface of the electrical box.
  • C — Sets the electrical actuator shaft diameter.
  • D — Sets the length of the actuator.
for Handwheel (and Calibrated, Pneumatic or Thermostatic)
  • A — Sets the handwheel's diameter.
  • B — Sets the offset distance between the valve and the handwheel.
  • C — Sets the handwheel shaft diameter.
for Wrench
  • A — Sets the vertical offset distance between the valve axis and the wrench.
  • B — Sets the lever length, the horizontal offset distance between the valve axis and the end of wrench.
OK Applies dialog settings to the active component.
Cancel Dismisses and closes the dialog.
